Perhaps the most notable coaching hire of the offseason was when NC State announced the hiring of former LSU and McNeese State head coach Will Wade. He had taken McNeese State to the NCAA tournament in back-to-back seasons and got a first-round victory over Clemson last season. This year's NC State team looks to be immediately competitive as head coach Will Wade has loaded up in the transfer portal.

Projected Lineup:

G Quadir Copeland (McNeese State transfer)

G Tre Holloman (Michigan State transfer)

G Terrence Arceneaux (Houston transfer)

F Darrion Williams (Texas Tech transfer)

C Ven Allen-Lubin (North Carolina transfer)

The backcourt for this NC State team next season is loaded with talent and experience. They bring in three great additions from the portal after Quadir Copeland and Alyn Breed. Both of them will follow Will Wade from McNeese. Copeland was a crucial piece in McNeese's tournament run. Breed only played in two games last year due to injury, but he averaged 17.5 points in those games. They also landed Tre Holloman from Michigan State. He averaged 9.1 points per game along with 3.7 assists, and was one of the better defenders in the Big Ten

Texas Tech transfer Darrion Williams is easily their biggest addition. He was one of the most coveted players in the portal after making first-team all-conference in the Big 12 last year. They also landed Terrance Arceneaux, who was a key player off the bench for Houston last season. Ven-Allen Lubin will start at the five. He comes over from in-state rival North Carolina, where he averaged 8.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Will Wade is poised for success in his first season in Raleigh after hauling in one of the best transfer classes in the country. They should be one of the most experienced teams in the ACC, despite having almost an entirely new team.

Prediction: 4th in ACC
