It's no secret that the Micah Shrewsberry era for Notre Dame is off to a rough start. He's got an overall record of 28-38 over his first two seasons as the head coach. They won 13 games during their first season and 15 games last year. There's optimism for a larger win increase in year three, as Notre Dame returns a lot of important players from last season's team.
Projected Lineup
G Markus Burton
G Braeden Shrewsberry
G Jalen Haralson
F Carson Towt (Northern Arizona transfer)
F Kebba Nije
Markus Burton is back for his third season at Notre Dame. He's been the guy on this team in each of his two seasons, earning all-ACC honors in both seasons. Last year, he averaged 21.4 points per game, which led the entire conference. Burton has a case to be the preseason player of the year in the ACC. Notre Dame also returns another starting guard from last season's team in Braeden Shrewsberry, son of head coach Micah Shrewsberry. Braeden was Notre Dame's third leading scorer last season, averaging 14.1 points per game.
Head coach Micah Shrewsberry didn't use the portal much this offseason, as they only brought in one transfer. They brought in 7th-year senior Carson Towt from Northern Arizona. He was one of the best players in the Big Sky last year, averaging 13.3 points and 12.4 rebounds, which led all of college basketball. Notre Dame does have one of the best incoming freshman recruiting classes in the conference. They brought in four players who are four-star recruits according to 247 Sports. Jalen Haralson is the most notable player in their freshman class. He's ranked as the #18 freshman in the country.
Prediction: 8th in ACC
